Welcome to Turner Elementary!

Turner Elementary, an IB (International Baccalaureate) School, serves over 500 students in Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade. Located in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Ward 8, Turner Elementary School has established a culture of urgency and intentionality around our mission of radically transforming students’ learning experiences and outcomes, in partnership with families and the community at large.

Turner Elementary School is focused on providing students a world class educational experience. Turner Elementary School’s vision is to be a model of excellence! Our academic environment of joyful learning and rigorous expectations is balanced by a peaceful student-centered culture focused on positive interactions. We are committed to nurturing self-regulated, kind, and inquisitive global citizens who are prepared for college and beyond.

As an International Baccalaureate School, Turner’s staff makes every effort to accelerate student achievement through experiential learning opportunities and arts integration. We also aim to provide students with curriculum that encompasses global exposure and rigorous learning, leading students to become independent thinkers and responsible citizens of the world.
