Arrival and Dismissal Policy

Arrival

Each student enrolled at Turner is expected to attend school every day for the entire school day unless there is an exceptional health or family reason that prevents attendance.

  • The school day for students will be 8:45 am to 3:15 pm. Students may arrive from 8:35 to 8:45 to have breakfast in the classroom. The instructional day starts promptly at 8:45 am, and students who are late must first go to the office for a tardy slip. Please be sure to be on time,
  • There will be after-care offered from 3:15 to 6 pm.
  • Students will enter through the back parking lot (signs will be posted).
  • The parking lot gate will close promptly at 8:45 a.m. If you arrive after 8:45 a.m., please enter through the front of the building.

Tardiness: Classes begin at 8:45 AM. Students arriving after 8:45 AM are considered tardy.

Dismissal

In order to ensure the safety of all of scholars, we will require an ID check for early dismissal and entering the building. The Pickup Badge is for regular dismissal only. We realize that we are very familiar with many of you, however, this added level of security will ensure the safety of your child(ren)/our scholars. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation with this effort.

Dismissal will begin at 3:15pm
  • Students will be dismissed from inside the building.
  • WALKERS: if your student is a walker or picked up by a sibling, be sure to complete the walker form. You may submit it to the office or your child's teacher. Without a signed form, we will not release your students to walk.
  • PICK-UP: all families have received a pickup badge with a number on it. Families will be required to show that number to staff at dismissal. If you do not have the badge, 100% ID check will take place. We are asking for your support as we ensure the safety of all students at dismissal.
  • Please contact Ms. Nowlin in the main office if you need support with a new badge.
 
Procedures for ECE:  Students are released to approved parents/guardians by classroom teachers and support staff with 100% ID Check.

Early pick up stops at 2:45pm, if possible please refrain from early pick up unless it is an emergency. It disrupts the learning process and we want to ensure that our students are successful.
